The Role:

New City College, Ardleigh Green is looking for a Games technician. As our Games Technician, you will have a vital role in supporting our students and staff across our Level 3 Games courses. New City College was recently endorsed by ScreenSkills for our work with industry partners, we were recently rated Outstanding by Ofsted and we have a network of contacts in world-leading companies such as Framestore and Four Agency. Key Responsibilities:

1. A media production or related qualification or good industry experience
2. Provide specialist support in our Games rooms, as well as our IT rooms
3. Maintain and operate equipment including graphics tablets and computer facilities
4. Managing the equipment loan service to ensure students have fair access to department equipment
5. Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite to use in skills building workshops
6. Experience of 3D software such as Blender and Maya. Knowledge of Unity and Unreal engine is not essential but advantageous
7. Ensure health and safety standards are maintained across the department
8. Purchase items that are needed in the department and manage equipment budgets
9. Contributing to the wider needs of the Creative department, which will include filming and editing events, and working closely with the team on our end of year celebration.

Who You Are:

10. A person with a creative and technical mindset, passionate about the media and games
11. Ability to manage computer installations
12. Experience working with the Adobe Suite
13. Ability to learn on the job, supporting our teaching staff in our classes
14. A problem solver who takes a proactive approach to resolving issues
15. The ability to support and inspire students in workshop settings
16. Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a creative environment
17. Someone with strong organisational skills, able to prepare materials and set up/check equipment for use in practical lessons
18. Strong timekeeping skills
19. A team player, willing to work with young people
