ABI ELECTRONICS is a world‑leading technology manufacturing business making advanced electronic diagnostic and reverse engineering systems used to maintain and recover critical electronic circuit boards. Based in Barnsley and exporting to more than 60 countries, we support customers across sectors including defence, aerospace, rail, energy, semiconductor manufacturing and automotive. We are looking for a versatile and motivated Technical Sales Engineer with a can‑do approach, strong team spirit, flexibility, ambition and a willingness to learn. This is a varied role combining customer support, product demonstration, training, sales development and day‑to‑day collaboration with our international network.

The role would best suit someone with some prior experience in a technical, commercial or customer‑facing environment, ideally with a background related to electronics. Qualification in electronics or a similar subject would be an advantage, but what matters most to us is attitude.

You should be comfortable managing different tasks, speaking with customers, supporting colleagues and adapting to the needs of a growing international business. The role includes occasional international travel and regular contact with customers and partners around the world, so confidence in working across cultures is important.

Starting salary from 28,000 but it's is dependent on experience, with a performance‑related bonus also offered.


The role includes:

* Supporting customers and developing new opportunities
* Delivering product demonstrations, training and technical support
* Working with ABI’s international distributors and customer base
* Supporting exhibitions, webinars, seminars and business development activity
* Responding to enquiries and working closely with colleagues across sales, applications and marketing

* An interest in electronics, social media (LinkedIn) and international business
* Qualification in electronics or a related field would be an advantage
* Previous experience in a relevant role would be an advantage
* Fluency in a foreign language such as Mandarin, German, Arabic and French or another European language would be an advantage.

You must have the full right to live and work in the UK and already be settled here. This is essential. You must also live within commuting distance of ABI’s office in Barnsley and be able to work on site during standard office hours.
