Are you an experienced logistics, warehouse or supply chain leader looking for a role where your decisions genuinely matter?
Due to the reorganisation of the service, we are looking for a Pharmacy Stores & Logistics Manager to lead a large, complex, Trust-wide medicines supply operation across the organisation. This is a high impact leadership role managing people, systems and stock, ensuring patients receive the right medicines, in the right place, at the right time – every day.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced operational environment, enjoys leading large teams, and has a strong background in logistics, warehousing, retail supply or distribution, whether inside or outside the NHS.
Experience in pharmacy is not essential, as we are particularly keen to hear from candidates with strong logistics or warehouse management experience.

Main duties of the job
* Lead and manage a large team of pharmacy assistants across two major hospital sites
* Oversee the pharmacy stores and distribution service, ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant supply of medicines
* Be the key decision maker for daily operations, staffing, stock control and service continuity
* Drive service improvement, efficiency and integration across pharmacy stores and clinical services
* Own and develop SOPs, processes and training programmes, ensuring compliance with safety, legal and professional standards
* Manage recruitment, performance, training, rotas and wellbeing of your teams
* Ensure effective stock control, condition monitoring, waste reduction and stock turnover
* Work closely with senior pharmacy and clinical leaders to meet performance targets and support patient care
Job responsibilities
* Act as the key decision maker and manage a multidisciplinary staffing resource and the daily activity of the Trust-wide pharmacy stores service
* Manage the pharmacy stores and distribution services FH & RVI by providing direction to all grades of staff
* Contribute to the review of Trust pharmacy services to improve efficiency and establish greater integration
* Take the lead on ensuring the delivery of agreed performance targets
* Oversee the initiation and implementation of comprehensive competency-based training programmes and assessment of multidisciplinary staff within the Pharmacy Stores Service
* Develop and review all Pharmacy Stores Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure high standards of health and safety, pharmaceutical issues and legal aspects
* Act as the recruitment manager and chair interview panels for the recruitment of staff into the Pharmacy Store
* In collaboration with the stores team leads, ensure adequate pharmaceutical stock levels are maintained for wards and departments throughout the trust and:
o The service delivers an effective operation
o Pharmaceutical products are in good condition
o Waste is minimised within the pharmacy store
o An agreed stock turnover is maintained
Person Specification
Qualifications & Education
* Educated to degree level or hold an NVQ Level 4 in Management or have equivalent knowledge and experience in a management role
* Health and Safety assessor qualification
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of a supply service environment i.e. retail, NHS, warehousing
* Working knowledge of current COSHH and Health and Safety Legislation
* Significant experience working in a goods-in/warehouse/retail environment
* Experience of leading and managing staff
* Assessor of Health and Safety in the workplace
* Evidence of understanding of Trust Business
* Experience of working in the Trust previously
