As a Gas Engineer you will: maintain and improve our properties, ensuring they meet high standards and customer expectations. This mobile role works primarily in the Frome/Glastonbury area and you should be based within a 30‑minute commute.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair domestic heating systems, including fault finding, installation and annual servicing.
* Ensure all work meets building regulations and safety requirements.
* Deliver a positive professional service to customers.
* Perform periodic testing and installation work in line with best practices.
* Follow health and safety procedures.
* Participate in out‑of‑hours on‑call and attend meetings and training.
Skills
* Proven experience in the gas industry with responsive maintenance.
* Proficiency in diagnosing boiler faults, servicing and installation.
* Professional customer service experience in domestic settings.
* Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
* Proficient in mobile technology.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Desirable: knowledge of LPG and Oil systems.
Qualifications Required
* CCN1 (Domestic Core Element)
* CENWAT1 (Domestic Gas Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters)
* Desirable: CKR1 (Cookers) – to be completed after probation.
* Desirable: HTR1 (Heaters) – to be completed after probation.
* Desirable: LPG (Bottled Gas)
* Desirable: Part L (Energy Efficiency Qualification)
* Desirable: Part G (Hot Water Safety)
* Desirable: Water Regs WRAS
* Desirable: Unvented Hot Water
* Desirable: OFTEC (Oil Qualification)
* Desirable: Solid Fuel Qualification.
