Higher Farm offer riding lessons for all abilities and have enviable livery facilities with 32 horses on site. They also have a brand new rehab centre offering rehabilitation livery and state-of-the-art water treadmill and combi-floor. Alongside this, Higher Farm also specialise in human ecotherapy; which is a form of therapeutic treatment involving the outdoors and in this unique case combining this with the comforting power of the horse. This position would suit anyone who is motivated and passionate about working in the equine industry. You may not know where you would like to specialise, however, this unique yard offers so much that you will be sure to find an area you would like to pursue be that in the livery yard setting, riding school and coaching, competition, rehab or indeed any of the other unique opportunities that Higher Farm offer. Usual yard duties included such as; Preparing horses for lessons Feeding and watering Rugging up Mucking out and leading horses There may also be riding for the right person and also opportunities to assist at shows. This apprenticeship is based on site in a practical setting so not lots of time in a classroom. If you did not gain your Maths & English GCSE's at school we can support you to get these whilst on programme. The training you will be getting You will be working towards the Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship qualification. Functional Skills in maths and English, if required. All training will be provided on site during your paid working hours. Your day to day mentoring will be with your employer, and a combination of online and in person monthly sessions will be held with your Haddon Training trainer coach.
