Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Test Manager to lead and oversee testing activities across complex programmes within the enterprise, public, and defence sectors. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of test strategy, planning, and execution in secure and regulated environments, with a proven track record of delivering quality outcomes in multi-vendor, multi-stakeholder landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Define and implement end-to-end test strategies aligned with programme goals and compliance requirements.
2. Lead test planning, execution, and reporting across functional, non-functional, integration, and user acceptance testing phases.
3. Manage test teams (internal and third-party), ensuring alignment with delivery milestones and quality standards.
4. Collaborate with project managers, architects, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure test coverage and traceability.
5. Oversee defect management, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement of test processes.
6. Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards, particularly in defence and public sector contexts.
7. Provide governance and assurance for testing activities across the programme lifecycle.
8. Support bid responses, proposals, and client engagements with test expertise when required.
Essential Skills & Experience:
9. Experience in test management roles.
10. Demonstrable experience in enterprise-scale programmes and secure environments (e.g., MOD, Home Office, NHS, or similar).
11. Strong understanding of test methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, V-Model) and tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, HP ALM).
12. Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and third-party suppliers.
13. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
14. Proven ability to work under pressure and deliver in high-assurance environments.
Desirable:
15. Active SC/DV Clearance
16. ISTQB Advanced Test Manager or equivalent certification.
17. Experience with DevSecOps, automation frameworks, and performance testing tools.
18. Familiarity with ITIL, TOGAF, or other enterprise frameworks.
