Thinking about teaching but want to test the waters first?
If you’re a graduate considering a career in education, this could be the perfect stepping stone. We’re working with a number of welcoming secondary schools in Macclesfield who are looking for confident Cover Supervisors to join them on a temporary basis, with real potential to move into permanent roles.
This is classroom experience that actually counts.
What you’ll be doing
• Leading classes of up to 30 pupils across a range of subjects
• Delivering pre-set lessons and keeping learning on track
• Managing behaviour confidently and consistently
• Acting as a steady, reliable presence in the classroom
You won’t be left to figure it out alone. Schools are keen to invest in graduates who may go on to train as teachers, offering support with behaviour management and the opportunity to gain experience within a subject department aligned to your specialism.
We’re looking for someone who:
• Has some experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting
• Is confident leading a room and giving clear instructions
• Can manage behaviour calmly and fairly
• Brings energy, resilience, and a professional attitude
• Has a subject specialism, which would be a bonus
If you can hold a room, build rapport quickly, and stay calm under pressure, you’ll thrive here.
