Join our Pensions Administration team and play a key role in supporting the effective administration and financial management of the University's pension schemes. About the Role As a Pensions Finance Assistant, you will work closely with the Pensions Accountant and the wider Pensions team to ensure that the financial transactions of the individual schemes are accurately recorded and reconciled. You will also assist in the preparation of the annual Report and Accounts for the four in house schemes that we administer. Key Responsibilities - Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly summaries of pension-related financial data, highlighting key metrics such as contributions, and variances against forecasts. - Support the Pensions Accountant by providing reliable data inputs and preliminary analysis for budget forecasts. Assist in producing routine financial reports and documentation for audits and trustee meetings, ensuring compliance and clarity. - Reconcile monthly pension contributions from the University and external employers, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Validate reports, resolve discrepancies by liaising with employers and internal teams, and maintain compliance with statutory deadlines. - Assist in the preparation of the annual Report and Accounts and liaising with the scheme auditor and actuary. About You We're looking for someone with: - Previous experience in financial services. - Strong numerical and analytical skills. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage workloads effectively. - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). - AAT qualified or working towards a recognised accounting qualification.
