Job Title: HGV Mechanic (Day Shift)

Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled HGV Mechanic to join our team on the day shift in Bedford. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of £46,000 and is perfect for a dedicated mechanic with experience in heavy goods vehicles who is committed to ensuring high-quality standards in maintenance and repair. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining our fleet’s performance and reliability through proactive maintenance and effective repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnostics and Repair:
Perform diagnostics and repairs on HGVs, handling a range of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with precision.
Preventative Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to reduce vehicle downtime and ensure fleet readiness.
Compliance and Safety Inspections:
Carry out thorough safety inspections to ensure all vehicles comply with industry regulations and company standards.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and inspections in accordance with company policies and DVSA requirements.
Parts Management:
Identify and replace worn or faulty parts as needed, ensuring availability of critical components to maintain efficient workflow.Qualifications and Skills:
Experience:
Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic or in a similar role, with a solid understanding of HGV systems and repair techniques.
Certification:
NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, with a strong aptitude for mechanical repairs and health & safety best practices.
Team Player:
