Engineering Course Leader (Tutor)
Full time: 37 hours per week
Location: Stephen Burke Construction Academy, Swadlincote
Salary: Up to £34,948 pro rata
PLUS £4,500 ‘Golden Hello’ staged over 3 years
PLUS Bursary up to £1,800 per year (qualification level dependent)
PLUS up to £11,000 professional development bursary for formal education and training qualifications including:
* Level 3-5 Education & Teaching
* Level 3 TAQA Assessor Qualification
* Level 4 TAQA Internal Quality Assurance Qualification
* Level 4 Engineering
Who are we looking for?
Burton and South Derbyshire College seeks a qualified, committed, and enthusiastic individual to join our Engineering team to deliver and lead on full-time programmes.
Applicants should have experience in Engineering and Manufacturing, with a focus on technical skills; CNC experience is desirable. You will teach various Engineering courses aligned with your occupational skills, delivering high-quality education. Innovative teaching, excellent communication skills, and motivation to guide learners are essential.
Ideally, applicants hold a relevant Higher Education qualification in Engineering or related fields and possess industrial experience and appropriate teaching and assessing qualifications. The College welcomes vocational specialists interested in a career in further education and offers training to gain recognized teaching qualifications.
Industry professionals seeking to move into teaching in further education can apply for a government grant scheme with payments up to £6,000 per year while studying teacher training.
Graduate applications are also welcome through our Graduate Teaching Programme.
