Tree Surgeon Coordinator The Role: We are currently looking for a Tree Surgeon Co-Ordinator to join our Tree Division at Rushcliffe Borough Council. You will have a minimum of two years climbing and groundman experience along with arboriculture qualifications and will also have your aerial rescue ticket. You will be a motivated self-starter and proactive member of a team looking after the Boroughs environment and contributing to our residents quality of life. Fantastic communication skills are essential, as is a good knowledge of Health & Safety standards. Based at our Bingham depot you will be working closely with your team leader completing various tree works. Flexibility is key as no one day is the same one day you could be working on pollarding and the next, crown lifting or land drainage management. The job does require early starts from 7am and also some occasional weekend work. You would also be expected to contribute to any on call services during public bank holidays as the need arises to support our emergency services. We are very open to and supportive of ongoing training and development to become the best that you can be. The Council proactively assesses all staff yearly to assess development support and help people achieve this. Tree Surgeon Coordinator The Responsibilities: - Deliver high-quality arboricultural work safely, confidently carrying out all aspects of tree work in line with BS 3998, SSOWs, RAMS, and H&S standards - Support the Team Leader and contribute to a high-performing tree team, including overseeing daily activities, motivating operatives, and assisting with planning and emergency response - Plan, schedule, and execute arboricultural operations such as pruning, felling, stump removal, and general maintenance with minimal supervision - Ensure vehicles, plant, and machinery are safely operated, defect-checked, serviced, and compliant, maintaining accurate records and liaising with relevant teams - Build positive working relationships, liaise professionally with the public on behalf of the Council, and contribute to the growth and reputation of the arboriculture service Tree Surgeon Coordinator You: - Minimum 2 years experience of all aspects of tree surgery - Minimum 2 years climbing experience - Minimum 2 years on the ground working within the industry Experience and relevant knowledge of health and safety within the specific areas of work - Relevant vocational qualifications ( e.g., from Lantra or NPTC): CS30 (NPTC 201) Chainsaw maintenance and Crosscutting CS31 (NPTC 202) Small tree felling NPTC (222) Use of Woodchipper CS38 (NPTC 203) Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue CS39 (NPTC 204) Chainsaw from Rope and Harness - Full, clean driving license As well as joining a forward thinking and progressive local authority the Council also offers the following benefits: - Reduced membership fees at our Leisure Centres - The Local Government pension scheme - A range of salary sacrifice schemes - Investment in further training - 24 days annual leave and chance to buy up to 5 days leave - Rushcliffe rewards- save money with across a range or retailers and leisure providers - Free Parking Closing Date: Sunday 22nd February 2026 To submit your CV for this Tree Surgeon Coordinator opportunity, click Apply now!
