About the role
As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while feeling proud of its ethical sourcing. You'll recommend recipes and actively bring our ethos - passionate Partners serving food lovers - to life.
Using your enthusiasm and friendliness, you'll build lasting relationships with customers, enhancing their impression of the Waitrose brand and fostering loyalty. Your efforts will help maximize sales and profit.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure your food counter maintains high presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
* Manage stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
* Handle open food carefully, following health & safety protocols and reducing wastage.
* Stay informed about new products and understand Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
* Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
* Effective communication skills for teamwork and customer interaction.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience in catering or hospitality.
* Interest in current food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the branch.
Part-time hours (15 hours/week) across seven days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings, and weekends. Vacancies:
* Vacancy 1: Sunday 08:30 - 14:30, Wednesday 13:00 - 21:00, Thursday 13:00 - 21:00
* Vacancy 2: Friday 13:00 - 21:00, Saturday (hours not specified)
