The school – A school located in central Birmingham, with easy access via public transport Pupils aged 11-16 A supportive and welcoming school environment, ensuring the pupils needs are always met academically, socially and emotionally The role - Use sport and movement to help develop confidence, teamwork, communication, and emotional wellbeing. Adapt activities to suit individual learning needs and abilities. Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and participation through active learning approaches. Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils to promote trust and motivation. Assist teachers in delivering creative and differentiated lessons across the curriculum. Promote healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, and positive social interaction. Support pupils with sensory, behavioural, and communication needs in both classroom and outdoor settings. Help pupils develop fine and gross motor skills through sport-based interventions and activities. Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to support pupil progress and wellbeing. Supervise and support pupils during breaktimes, educational visits, and extracurricular sports activities. Create a safe, encouraging, and inclusive environment where every pupil can succeed. Use enthusiasm for sport to engage reluctant learners and increase participation in school life. About you: To be considered for the Teaching Assistant role, you will: Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential. Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
