Your New JobWe are seeking a skilled andpassionate SEND HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) to join the school’s team on a full-time basis, starting in September 2025 or earlier if available. This is a temporary role for the first term, with the potential to be extended depending on performance and school needs. As a SEND HLTA, you will:
1. Support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4
2. Lead small group interventions and occasionally deliver lessons in the teacher’s absence
3. Work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
4. Provide tailored support to students with a range of SEND, including SEMH and ASC
5. Use positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement
6. Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
What You'll Need to Succeed
7. HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience
8. Proven experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly SEMH or ASC
9. Strongmunication, teamwork, and behaviour management skills
10. A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning
11. An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
