Computer Science Teacher – Secondary School (Full-Time, Long-Term) Location: Near Shirley, Southampton Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (with potential to go permanent) Pay: £160 – £240 per day (depending on experience) Working Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm About the Role A secondary school based near Shirley, Southampton is looking for a Computer Science Teacher to join them from September 2025. This is a full-time position, initially long-term, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right person. The role involves teaching Computer Science to students in Key Stages 3 and 4. You’ll be part of a small, supportive department that works closely together and shares resources. Whether you’re an experienced teacher or an ECT looking to start your career, you’ll be made to feel welcome. What You’ll Be Doing Teaching Computer Science to KS3 and KS4 students Helping students develop practical skills in programming, computing, and digital literacy Planning and delivering lessons that are clear, engaging, and well-paced Working with the team to improve resources and support each other Getting involved in the wider school community – if you’re keen to run a coding club or take part in events, there’s room for that too About the School This is a mixed secondary school for students aged 11–16, based just outside Shirley. The school has a friendly and down-to-earth atmosphere. Staff are supportive of one another and there’s a genuine focus on doing the best for the students without unnecessary pressure.
