Job Title: Infrastructure Project Manager - Delivering Design and Construction
The Infrastructure Project Manager is responsible for leading onshore delivery of capital programmes. The role involves guiding project teams, managing interdependencies, and maintaining outputs, requiring strong project management skills and the ability to deliver at pace in a complex environment.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Manage full project lifecycle – from Early Contractor Involvement and design through construction and commissioning
2. Lead multidisciplinary teams – inspire collaboration and maintain momentum across stakeholders
3. Oversee NEC4 contracts – build strong working relationships and monitor contractor performance
4. Control budgets and costs – track financials, forecast accurately, and report against approved budgets
5. Mitigate risk – apply sound risk management and change control throughout the project lifecycle
6. Support project assurance – contribute to reviews and ensure compliance with internal processes
7. Manage schedules and milestones – direct delivery against defined phases and maintain programme integrity
8. Close out contracts – ensure all deliverables, payments, and maintenance agreements are completed
This is a critical role in a fast-paced and demanding environment, ideal for a confident leader with strong infrastructure delivery experience and excellent programme management skills.
Qualifications:
* Essential Requirements:
* Proven Delivery Experience – Minimum 10 years in consultancy and/or construction, with at least 5 years in a management role
* Built Environment Expertise – Strong experience in infrastructure works, particularly within the built environment
* Commercial Acumen – Solid understanding of package costs and value; confident in challenging Compensation Events (CEs)
* NEC4 Contract Management – Practical experience delivering under NEC4, including change and stakeholder management
* Strong IT Skills – Comfortable using digital tools and systems for project delivery and communication
Desirable Skills & Experience:
* Operational Environment Experience – Track record of delivery in regulated or complex live environments, e.g., oil and gas, nuclear, marine, or defence.
* Collaborative Working – Experience working in partnership with diverse stakeholders and delivery partners
* Adaptability – Able to respond to fast-changing requirements with flexibility and composure
* CEMAR or Similar Tools – Familiarity with contract management tools like CEMAR
