MCS Group is looking for an experienced IT Networking/Security Engineer to join a leading manufacturing organisation on a 3 month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on with systems, networks, and security, and who can support ongoing improvement projects during a busy period of transition. Working on-site inBallymena, you will play a key part in supporting the company's IT operations, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of its network and systems. This Networking/Security Engineer will be involved in day-to-day management of the infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, implementing configuration changes, and contributing to wider security and infrastructure enhancements. The Role: Provide hands-on support for LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and firewall infrastructure. Assist with the management of SD-WAN, switches, routers, Wi-Fi systems, and firewalls. Carry out configuration changes, upgrades, and ensure accurate documentation of systems. Support cloud, network, and security improvement projects, including Wi-Fi, Firewall, Endpoint Security, and Printing. Help strengthen the company's cybersecurity posture, including risk mitigation and vulnerability remediation. The Person You will have extensive Infrastructure Management experience, including experience supporting, designing, and managing IT infrastructure across servers, networks, storage, and cloud services You will bring hands-on cybersecurity experience, including experience implementing security measures, performing assessments, and handling security incidents. This role also requires knowledge of incident response and root-cause analysis capabilities. Proven background in network administration and infrastructure support. Strong understanding of networking protocols and core network technologies. Experience working with firewalls is essential. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, on-prem Active Directory, and Group Policies. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, patching, and vulnerability management. This role requires a demonstrable ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, with a positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn. Location: Full-time, on-site in Ballymena, Northern Ireland.
