Supplier Manager – Technology & Digital
Responsible to: Snr Sourcing Manager – Tech & Digital – UK & Europe Department. Procurement location: JD Sports Head Office, Bury, BL9 8RR.
Responsibilities
* Act as a Relationship Manager for BAU, ensuring that supplier management governance frameworks are driven.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Digital and Technology, Sourcing, Legal and Finance.
* Help segment the Supplier base and implement Governance, including reporting packs, scorecards, SLA monitoring, volume consumption, KPI dashboards, statistics and invoicing issues.
* Organise, lead and deliver monthly service reviews.
* Drive regular engagement with stakeholder groups.
* Manage continual performance improvement.
* Develop skills to mentor and develop the stakeholder community in best practices around supplier management.
* Effectively manage escalations, both externally and internally.
* Act as primary point of contact for key vendors.
* Monitor renewal dates and support the Sourcing team with re‑negotiations.
Qualifications & Experience
* Commercial experience within fast‑paced omni‑channel retail or relevant commodity/services, with the ability to manage high levels of ambiguity or change.
* Confidence in owning problems and issues, proposing solutions, and ensuring deadlines and business goals are achieved.
* Self‑starter with initiative and confidence to deliver value.
* Ability to influence and drive change by engaging with stakeholders and resolving issues and challenges.
* Strong engagement and communication skills, with a track record of successfully delivering process improvements and efficiencies.
* Attention to detail, focus, and confidence in related categories.
* Data‑driven mindset, using analytical skills to develop innovative solutions that address business needs, initiate opportunities, and deliver margin improvement.
* Strong relationship‑building with internal and external stakeholders.
* Strategic thinker, recognising and resolving ambiguous or challenging situations, evaluating alternatives and contingency plans.
* Confidence to challenge the business when needed.
