We have a number of opportunities across Wigan and Leigh for Health Care Support Workers to join Golborne Ward at Atherleigh Park Hospital which is a later life mixed sex ward supporting patients with an organic or functional diagnosis. We are looking for keen, dependable, caring, and compassionate candidates who are committed to high‑quality healthcare provision. Knowledge and previous experience working within mental health is essential, as is experience with later‑life adults in a care setting.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship at the entry point of Band 3.
Responsibilities
* Assist and support patients under the guidance of qualified staff to promote recovery and well‑being.
* Provide direct nursing care, clerical, cleaning and ancillary duties.
* Support the ward team and manager, and develop your skills within the care environment.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in health and social care, or a diploma in health and social care, or relevant experience.
* Previous experience working within a mental health setting.
* Experience working with later‑life adults in a care setting.
Shift patterns
We deliver a 24‑hour/7‑day service. Post holders will rotate between day and night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
