Art Teacher – Primary (4 Days per Week, Temporary)

Rate: £120–£130 per day (dependent on experience)
Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday

Are you a passionate Art Specialist who believes creativity is essential to a child’s confidence, wellbeing, and self-expression? This is a wonderful opportunity to join a happy, diverse primary community in Haringey, where the arts are valued and children are encouraged to explore their unique potential in a nurturing, respectful environment.

This full-time, permanent position offers a balanced and rewarding role delivering Art PPA cover across the primary phase, while also contributing as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for two general cover sessions per week. You’ll be supported by a friendly, collaborative staff team and benefit from excellent facilities designed to inspire creative learning.

The Role

As the Art Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons in line with the school’s curriculum

• Inspire pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 through creative, well-structured teaching

• Encourage confidence, individuality, and self-expression through the arts

• Provide two general cover sessions as a HLTA when required

• Work collaboratively with staff to maintain consistency and high standards

This role is ideal for an Art Specialist who enjoys autonomy in planning, values strong relationships, and wants to make creativity a meaningful part of school life.

What We’re Looking For

• A confident Art Specialist with strong subject knowledge

• Experience teaching art in a primary setting (QTS desirable but not required)

• Ability to plan engaging, age-appropriate lessons independently

• A warm, positive approach that promotes kindness, respect, and responsibility

• Flexibility and confidence to support general cover sessions

Why This Role Stands Out

• Permanent role with a 4-day working week (excellent work–life balance)

• Competitive daily rate (salaries aligned with teacher pay scales)

• Welcoming, inclusive school community with a “small school feel”

• Supportive leadership and a genuinely lovely staff team

• Fantastic facilities that enhance creative teaching and learning

If you’re an Art Specialist looking to inspire young learners in a school where creativity and community truly matter, this could be the perfect next step.
