Chief Executive Officer job opportunity - Primary Trauma Care Foundation
About the job:
Life+Limb / the Primary Trauma Care Foundation (PTCF) (www.primarytraumacare.org) is looking for a new Chief Executive Officer to lead the charity to new heights.
Location: remote, work from home. Some travel to UK meetings and occasional travel abroad.
Contract: Part time - 0.4 WTE. Self-employed. Six-month probationary period.
Salary: negotiable from £45,000 p.a. full time pro rata dependant on experience
You would be mentored initially by the present incumbent and another successful charity CEO.
PTCF is an Oxford virtual-based international charity that teaches people, primarily healthcare professionals, in low resource areas of the world how to manage people who suffer major injury. The charity has been going since 1996, is about to go into its 90th country, is active in all present global conflict and disaster zones and has trained over 1 million healthcare professionals. The training is recognised and accredited by all major global healthcare organisations and is the largest low resource injury training programme in the world (that no one has heard of). We aim within 10 years for no one in a low resource area of the world to be more than 30 minutes from accredited trauma/injury care.
The organisation is primarily voluntary. You would work with an administrator, a lead ambassador/fundraiser, a consultant advisor/mentor, and, be guided by and answerable to the board of Trustees.
You woulde lead:
• new programmes of global training;
• global research projects;
• funding and fundraising initiatives; and
• innovative 21st century methods of training.
The work would involve liaising with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, many other global medical professional colleges and organisations, including the World Health Organisation.
About you - we are looking for UK based individual to be the new face of the charity globally, with:
• proven strong leadership and skills (essential) with senior management experience
• experience within the charitable/third sector (desirable but not essential)
• diplomacy skills, experience dealing with cultural diversity and low resource areas of the world
• experience within the healthcare sector (desirable but not essential)
• ability to be flexible in terms of time commitment and approach, able to assimilate information and make decisions quickly, be organised, manage budgets, an ease in managing multiple stakeholders at all levels of organisations; comfortable working autonomously and be able to shape your own working pattern in line with PTCF’s structure and objectives, whilst keeping the board informed.
