We are looking for a maternity cover People Business Partner to join the team as a key player in achieving our vision. This is a 12 month fixed term contract from July 2026 to cover a period of maternity leave within the team. Reporting directly to the Head of People & Culture, you will be pivotal in leading on the people projects and initiatives. You will be part of a wider People Services team made up of Talent Acquisition and Resourcing, Learning and Development, People Operations, Employee Relations and Business Partnering and will work in a large (500 plus employees) law firm based in Bristol. Key responsibilities Lead the implementation of wider people vision projects. Proactively identifying opportunities for cultural change initiatives and drive their implementation across the company. Collaborate closely with other members of the HR team to ensure alignment and consistency in people initiatives and practices. Monitor and analysing people metrics and trends to inform decision making and drive continuous improvement. Continually support and upskill managers to empower and enable colleagues to act within their delegated authority. Support People Team colleagues by facilitating lessons learned, collating feedback and identifying continuous improvement opportunities. Identify, create and implement people plans that support the company to achieve its objectives by building capability across specific groups and divisions. Personally develop and facilitate workshops/training and updates for managers and relevant colleagues. Act as a trusted advisor and coach to managers on people-related matters, providing guidance and support to driver performance and development. Essential experience and skills Experience of initiating, leading and implement HR related projects. Experience of working at Advisor level in a HR team. Experience of coaching and advising managers on people-related matters. Ability to build relationships by understanding the needs and drivers of others. Detailed understanding of the employee life cycle and employee experience. Problem solving skills. Excellent communication skills in order to build engagement around a variety of HR initiatives. Must be resourceful and proactive. Microsoft Office and related tools.
