SEN Teacher – Fantastic Secondary School – Barking
A supportive secondary school in Barking is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team from April 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in an inclusive environment, supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC), moderate learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Role Highlights:
* Full-time, permanent position at a supportive secondary school in Barking
* Teach SEN students across different key stages, ensuring they have access to a tailored and engaging curriculum
* Adapt lessons and teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students with SEN, promoting their academic, social, and emotional development
* Collaborate with the SENCO, teaching assistants, and other professionals to create and implement personalized learning plans for students
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted interventions where needed to ensure success
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where students feel valued and motivated
* Help students develop essential life skills, independence, and self-confidence
Experience & Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience teaching SEN students at secondary level, ideally in a mainstream school or SEN setting
* A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to teaching students with additional needs
* Strong knowledge of SEN strategies and a commitment to providing inclusive education
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
* Enhanced DBS check required
