I have £3000-£4000 a month I'd like to give a current or aspiring marketer who's based in/around Cambridge, UK.
Does this sound like you?
* You live in/around Cambridge
* You genuinely enjoy the idea of marketing/selling stuff online
* You have ambitions to be responsible for real results
* You work hard and are okay with juggling multiple projects/clients
* You want to work with a close-knit team and push yourself to grow alongside us
* You are okay working in-office and from home (if desired)
* You want to get rewarded with regular salary increases as we grow
I don't care if you're a complete newbie or if you already have some experience - I'm simply looking for someone who wants to grow fast and get involved with a small Cambridge-based team.
This will essentially double as a mentorship. You'll be under my wing and learning directly from my (and my team's) experience.
So more than anything, I'm looking for someone who gets genuinely excited by marketing and who wants to go very far by driving results & selling stuff online.
Here's the context: I'm building multiple teams/brands and I need someone who is driven by the idea of becoming an instrumental part of both an expanding marketing agency AND a selection of our own B2C/B2B businesses.
I love Cambridge and I want to source (and train) local talent for this new role.
The role itself is relatively diverse as we serve multiple clients/businesses, including:
* Established health-tech brands
* International ecommerce brands (in America, Australia, UK, Europe)
* Pharmacy businesses
But for all of them, we use the principles of direct-response marketing to build strategies and complete tasks.
Your role will consist of multiple deliverables, all of which you'll receive training for and be following systems for, including:
* Marketing strategy consulting (both explaining our methods to prospective clients and helping new clients build out strategies)
* Reporting on marketing metrics
* Wireframing & directing designers and video editors
I'm by no means expecting you to know how to do all of this before you start. We're very serious about training and guiding our team members, ensuring you know what the principles of each deliverable are before asking you to produce anything.
The most important thing is a willingness to learn and an excitement around building new skills.
Next, I want to tell you a bit more about the business you'll be joining and how the role relates to it.
* We are currently in the process of merging two brands (Alex Myatt Marketing & CamCom) into one which will be based here in Cambridge, so the official name of the agency will be announced shortly (but we are already an established team with an office in the heart of the city).
* Initially, this will be a full-time 40 hours per week contractor role. If all goes well and we believe we're a great fit for each other after the first 3 months (or sooner), then there will be an option for PAYE employment. In the meantime though, we can support you with the admin of being a sole trader if this is not something you have done before (rest assured, it's extremely simple!)
* Finally, we are only looking for applicants who are based in/around Cambridge. I'm afraid if you are unable to travel to Cambridge City Centre on a regular basis, you will not be considered for this role. Similarly, we are only after people who are looking to build a long-term career and help shape a rapidly growing business.
FINALLY, let's briefly discuss the application process.
👉 Please submit your CV via LinkedIn and a cover letter directly to alexmyattmarketing@gmail.com (or a cover video or a cover slideshow... or whatever) - you can also send a portfolio of marketing work/spec pieces to alexmyattmarketing@gmail.com if you have one.
👉 In your cover letter, let me know what you want from a role, why you think this may be a good fit for you, and what your relationship with marketing has been like so far. Remember, attitude and intentions count for more than experience in this role... I don't care if you're currently working part-time in a coffee shop on minimum wage or if you already have 5 years experience in an extremely relevant role, I'm just looking for someone who is serious about growing.
👉 Oh! And in your cover letter, please put the words "Grey Water Bottle" at the very top/start so I know you've read the whole job post.
👉 We'll then arrange 20-30 minute video interviews within the next 2 weeks.
👉 And finally we'll arrange in-person interviews in Cambridge in early November.
👉 We're looking at a start date of between mid-November to mid-December, but this can be flexible as needed.
👉 If there's anything else you feel will help support your application, please send it to alexmyattmarketing@gmail.com
👉 One last thing to note is: Although this role will also be a mentorship and involve advanced training, I'm ideally looking for people who already have an understanding of basic marketing terms and can write without mistakes (so ideally you already have a proven interest in marketing).
Based on our last hiring process, I'm expecting a lot of applicants for this position. I will do my absolute best to get back to everyone individually regardless of whether you have made it through to the next round or not - but I apologise if it takes up to 1-2 weeks to hear back (or if I miss anyone).
I very much look forward to hearing from you. We're all excited to add another fresh, enthusiastic member to our team!
Alex
