Overview
Are you an experienced and innovative NMC Registered Nurse? This is a fixed term contract role for 12 months (with the possibility of becoming a permanent position) based at Peterborough City Hospital. You may be required to work across sites as required. You will join our Research team and help deliver high-quality research. Our team includes clinical and non-clinical staff, local clinicians, and research groups, with cross clinical divisions required as workload dictates.
Note: We are only able to accept applications from those with a live UK NMC registration as we are unable to support OSCE at this time.
Responsibilities
* Assist with participant identification and recruitment, obtaining informed consent from patients.
* Organise patient visits, collect and process patient samples, and complete case report forms.
* Maintain study documentation according to Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP).
* Ensure safety of study participants and accuracy of study procedures in accordance with the research protocol.
* Monitor treatment toxicity/side effects and implement changes to treatment as required by the protocol.
* Arrange collection of blood and other research samples; ensure safe and appropriate storage of specimens with local clinical and nursing teams, phlebotomy and laboratory staff.
* Provide information to patients and their relatives about research projects and act as a resource and support to them, explaining practical aspects of clinical research.
* Collaborate with local R&D members to assess capacity and capability for research studies and inform potential participants of relevant projects.
* Ensure compliant informed consent processes and adherence to GCP in all interactions.
Qualifications and Experience
* NMC Registered Nurse with current licensure in the UK.
* Experience or interest in clinical research; NHS experience is desirable but full training and mentoring will be provided.
* Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and ability to apply it in a research setting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; ability to work across clinical divisions and sites.
* Open to cross-division collaboration and flexible working arrangements.
Contract Details
Fixed term contract for 12 months (with the possibility of becoming a permanent position). Based at Peterborough City Hospital with potential cross-site requirements within the Trust.

The post holder will assist with participant identification and recruitment, obtain informed consent from patients, and have responsibility for organising patient visits, collection and processing of patient samples, completion of case report forms, and maintenance of study documentation according to Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP).
You will have experience of working within the Trust Divisions. Clinical research experience within the NHS is desirable but full training and mentoring will be provided.
