Summary:
The QA Manager is responsible for leading quality, food safety, and verification of conformance to regulatory requirements in support of plant operations. This position provides direction to production in making quality decisions, investigating non-conforming products, and leading during process upsets. Reports directly to the plant manager and indirectly to the divisional QFS director.
Position Responsibilities:
* Lead a team overseeing quality and product safety programs to ensure compliance with ADM, regulatory, and customer requirements.
* Verify quality and safety checks are properly completed.
* Ensure high-risk activities are completed before shipment.
* Schedule and monitor activities like carryover studies, traceability, and product checks.
* Communicate product discrepancies to production and leadership, and take corrective actions.
* Prepare for and lead during customer audits and third-party certifications (e.g., FSSC, FAMI-QS).
* Provide food safety training and maintain records.
* Manage GMP inspections and investigate manufacturing errors, completing CAPA reports.
* Conduct complaint investigations with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
* Ensure equipment validation procedures are followed.
* Oversee Pest Control Program and manage product recalls.
* Develop site-specific work instructions and lead audits (FDA, internal).
* Collaborate on sample testing and product testing programs.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related; or 5+ years in quality in feed/food.
* Knowledge of FDA and state regulations.
* Training in Preventive Controls (preferred).
* Highly organized with strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work in diverse conditions and physical environments.
Relocation assistance available. The role offers a salary range of $70,400 - $131,600, plus bonuses and benefits.
