Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive
HR Manager
to lead and manage all aspects of our Human Resources function. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our people strategy, overseeing employee relations, also work closely with our outsourced HR advisor who will provide guidance on HR policies and HR matters. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys both strategic and operational HR work within a dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
* Manage recruitment process for the business, including sourcing approaching potential employees.
* Oversee the full employee lifecycle including as mentioned recruitment but also, onboarding, performance management, development, training and offboarding.
* Provide expert guidance and support to managers on HR matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance issues, working alongside our outsourced HR services.
* Ensure HR policies and procedures are up-to-date, legally compliant (in line with UK employment law), and effectively communicated.
* Lead initiatives around employee engagement, wellbeing, and workplace culture.
* Maintain accurate HR records and ensure GDPR compliance.
* Support change management projects, including organisational restructures and TUPE processes (if applicable).
* Monitor and report on HR metrics such as staff turnover, absence rates, and employee satisfaction.
* Keep abreast of employment law updates and industry best practices.
* As well as HR duties there will be a requirement to eventually take on expense processing and adhoc office admin tasks.
Requirements
Essential:
* Proven experience in a HR role or with HR duties.
* Strong knowledge of HR practices and law
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and influence senior stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
* High level of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
* Able to work in the office 4 days per week on a part time basis
* Would consider for the right candidate term time work
Desirable:
* Experience in consultancy or services businesses.
* HR qualification (CIPD etc)
* Project management or change management experience.
* Proven ability to engage at a senior level
