Training Centre course backed up with college tuition and workplace experience to carry out an engineering apprenticeship the outcome being a qualified multiskilled maintenance engineer.\n\nThis opportunity is for a full Modern Apprenticeship programme culminating in attaining an SCQF Level 5 and SCQF Level 7 in Engineering Maintenance and an NC in Engineering Systems, with the expectation that candidates continue to HNC level. Full training will be provided onsite and at our training provider (EKGTA) in East Kilbride. On successful completion of the programme, candidates will receive the appropriate certification, the outcome being a qualified multiskilled maintenance engineer.\n\nRole Key Accountabilities \nBeing adaptable - Following a structured plan to spend time on each plant so you can understand the process and equipment.\n\nRead and interpret relevant data and documentation used to maintain components, equipment and systems.\nTo carry out PPM and maintenance activities on scheduled maintenance days.\n\nHaving a proactive view and assisting with cleaning as you go to ensure that all work areas are kept to a high degree of cleanliness.\n\nWorking/assisting all members of the engineering team, to gain experience from them and knowledge of the equipment they are working on.\n\nThrough the course of the apprenticeship, become trained on all process equipment and how this is set up / used safely. You will be required to successfully perform fault diagnosis on electrical, mechanical, fluid and process control systems.\n\nTo engage with and champion automation and efficiency within the manufacturing environment. Do this through involvement in the suggestion scheme and excellence projects.\n\nThrough the apprenticeship, become knowledgeable in key engineering techniques and good practices.\n\nIncorporate multi-skilling as part of everyday working practice to improve the running of manufacturing equipment. You will be required to run your own improvement project and validate the benefit.\n Candidates must have or expect to pass at least 4 National 5 Grades at Level C or above. Mathâs and English are required, with science and technical subjects preferable. Higher level qualifications would be an advantage.
