Our client, a multidisciplinary property and design consultancy known for delivering high-quality, sustainable building solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Mechanical Engineer
to join their Building Services team.
Based in Matlock, you will play a key role in the
design, delivery, and oversight
of
Mechanical / HVAC
systems across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects throughout Derbyshire and surrounding areas, primarily within the Education sector.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Engineer looking to take ownership of projects from
concept to completion
, including
site visits, design, and final sign-off
.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and implementation of Mechanical / HVAC systems for building services projects
* Prepare and manage tender documentation
* Conduct site inspections, oversee installation, and ensure compliance with design specifications
* Sign off completed Mechanical / HVAC works and ensure quality assurance
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Architects, Electrical Engineers, and Project Managers
* Ensure all work complies with current regulations and sustainability standards
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a full-time Mechanical / HVAC Engineering role within building services
* HNC or higher qualification in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or a related field
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary design team on both refurbishment and new build projects
* Experience of managing multiple projects at any one time
* Experience working on Mechanical design within the Education sector
* Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and Mechanical standards
* Ideally having experience in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MEP Worx)
* Excellent communication and project management skills
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential)
* Live within a commutable distance from Derbyshire
* Experience of working on projects within Local Authority would be advantageous
* As would experience of working in a Building Consultancy
