Primary Purpose of the Role
Support the Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM) and bid/project teams to design, develop and deliver complex systems on-time and on-budget through good systems engineering practices to meet our goals. We are the leading provider of underwater sensor systems and decision support for navies worldwide.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
 * Convert requirements into conceptual designs and prepare associated documentation by performing analyses, simulations and trade-off studies evaluating alternative configurations and features.
 * Understand the systems development lifecycle and lifecycle products.
 * Write and execute Test Specifications, plans and strategies from system requirements; execute tests and record results; raise/investigate/verify defects; maintain quality targets.
 * Create outline designs from requirements using various design tools; modify concepts to fulfil requirements.
 * Prepare system and subsystem requirement specifications, interface requirements and test requirement documents; analyse, decompose and refine customer requirements.
 * Define system design and subsystem requirements; perform analyses and simulations to identify feasibility and driving requirements.
 * Report work progress and forecasts against work packages; investigate problems in the field or with documentation.
 * Develop, implement and maintain tools for Systems Engineering; assess tools for continuous improvement.
 * Keep abreast of technical developments; produce quality metrics to support progress reporting.
 * Collaborate with project planners to input to project programs; represent System Engineering at formal Design Reviews focusing on reducing design risks.
 * Support professional growth through regular check-ins with line managers.

Competence and Experience
 * Proficiency with IT tools and System Engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, MBSE)
 * Understanding of configuration management and development processes
 * Ability to produce metrics for Quality Control and to work with project plans
 * Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work under pressure and in teams
Qualifications and Certification
 * HNC/HND/Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent
 * Please note eligibility for SC clearance and being a sole UK National for UK Eyes Only programme
 * Professional status (CEng) or equivalent preferred
