Description Amazon XCM EU is seeking a Senior Creative Director (Art) with exceptional art direction and visual craft. This role is the creative voice for visual outputs - from art direction and design direction on TV/OLV to integrated campaign visual identity - and forms one half of a senior creative partnership that drives the standard for EU Brand and Retail campaigns. You will work both strategically and tactically - determining the creative strategy and where to simplify or extend solutions for the best outcome. You will work with limited guidance, often in situations where goals, insights, and strategic decisions are undefined. You will synthesise existing customer research and data to develop campaign ideas, and may determine underlying customer needs to define the visual creative direction. Working in a co-CD partnership with the Senior Creative Director (Copy), you will bring a unified creative vision to the work - from initial brief response through to final delivery. You will be comfortable leading agency relationships on visual direction, reworking external creative when it doesn't meet the bar, and presenting confidently to senior stakeholders. While your primary craft is visual/art direction, you are expected to provide creative guidance across all disciplines - including copy, design systems, and production - ensuring strategic alignment across the full creative output. The ideal candidate is a world-class visual creative leader with a proven track record of concepting and delivering integrated campaigns across TV, OLV, digital, social, and experiential channels. You will possess a strong understanding of design, layout, video, photography, typography, and wide-ranging interactive technologies. A strong understanding of multi-market visual storytelling is essential, ensuring work resonates across EU marketplaces. Key job responsibilities - Partner with the Senior Creative Director (Copy) to deliver a unified creative vision across all campaign outputs - Define and direct the visual identity, art direction, and design language for Brand/Retail campaigns across all touchpoints - Ensure brand storytelling is rooted in genuine customer understanding - translating data, research, and cultural insight into creative work that resonates emotionally and drives meaningful connection with EU customers - Direct and enhance agency-delivered creative work, reworking visual direction and design when they fall short of the required standard - Partner with global teams, working towards a shared global creative vision while understanding and protecting EU-specific needs, nuances, and market requirements - Attend and creatively direct shoots, ensuring the written vision translates to screen - Provide creative feedback across diverse groups, leaders, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on strategy; drive creative alignment with leadership and stakeholders - Direct brainstorm sessions and participate in documenting session outputs (e.g. PRFAQ) - Own and actively develop mechanisms to improve internal and/or external creative processes; document and amplify processes across the team - Actively mentor and develop other creatives in the organisation - Contribute to the team's creative culture through knowledge sharing, creative reviews, and raising the bar on craft Basic Qualifications - Experience in driving compelling creative strategy and execution at an agency or in-house creative team - Extensive experience in art direction/creative direction within advertising, brand, or inhouse creative agencies - Proven track record of concepting and delivering integrated campaigns across TV, OLV, digital, social, and experiential channels - Demonstrated experience leading or co-leading creative teams and agency partnerships - Portfolio demonstrating world-class visual craft, conceptual thinking, and brand storytelling across multiple mediums - Experience art directing video/film productions from pre-production through post - Excellent presentation and stakeholder management skills at senior/Director level - Experience working on global brand campaigns for major consumer brands preferred - Experience working in a co-Creative Director partnership model preferred - Understanding of emerging creative technologies (GenAI, CGI, real-time content, AR/VR) and their application to visual storytelling Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Keynote - Experience leading creative development of innovative creative from concept to delivery - Ability to provide creative guidance across diverse disciplines beyond primary craft (copy, design systems, production) Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
