Role: Asset Compliance Manager - Asbestos & Lifting Equipment
Location: West Bridge Depot, Northampton.
Hours of work: 37 hours per week

Salary: £47,116 per year
It's an exciting time to join Northamptonshire Partnership Homes (NPH) as we expand and grow our business, whilst developing and improving existing services for our residents. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join NPH as an Asset Compliance Manager - (Asbestos & Lifting Equipment)
Key Responsibilities
* Provide effective leadership and management of the statutory asbestos management and lifting equipment systems and associated programmes of investment and remedial works. To ensure all regulatory and legislative responsibilities for the asset base are achieved through the development of an effective strategic and operational framework that meets the compliance needs of NPH, with customers put first throughout all activities.
* Act as the responsible person for NPH in regulations governing asbestos safety and lifting equipment safety other requirements as necessary arising from the ownership and management of residential properties and buildings.
* Develop programmes of servicing, remedial and investment works for asbestos safety both communal and domestic, asbestos, as well as passenger lifts, stairlifts, hoists, patient handling equipment and any other lifting equipment. Produce lifecycle investment plans to enable timely and effective procurement activities in maintaining and replacing equipment.
* Support our Direct Labour Organisation in ensuring they have the correct training, processes and risk assessments to manage the asbestos in our portfolio.
* Establish configuration baselines for all asbestos safety, testing and removal both communal and domestic. Establish baselines for lifting equipment servicing and LOLER contracts for use in the procurement of works. Be responsible for the procurement of external suppliers, such as specialist contractors and consultants where appropriate to ensure the service provided meets the needs of NPH.
* Provide technical support to our Development colleagues at West Northamptonshire Council to ensure any homes being developed meet all applicable standards and are smoothly accepted into the portfolio for all compliance regimes.
* Keep up to date with all relevant legislation and regulations in respect of building compliance and share information across NPH.
* Ensure that robust policies and procedures are in place for the management of Health & Safety risks arising from the asset base to provide necessary assurance to the Board and Auditors. Audit and report upon compliance with these, revising procedures as necessary.
What skills are we looking for?
* A full UK Driving Licence
* Ability to work flexibly, with occasional overnight stays where required
* Lift and Escalator Industry Association (LEIA) Awareness of compliance or safety regulations
* IOSH Managing Safely course Business Administration qualification – Level 2 or above or qualified by experience
* Level 4 VRQ Diploma in Asset and Building Management or equivalent First-class customer service skills
* Asbestos P402 Asbestos Surveying qualification and P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings
* Knowledge and understanding of the housing sector and the TSM regulatory regime and new consumer standards.
* Knowledge and understanding of building construction, property maintenance and statutory Asbestos and Lifting Equipment servicing and remedial works.
* Excellent organisational and project management skills Excellent organisation and planning skills
* Experience of managing and developing staff to work independently and exercising judgement.
* First-class customer service skills
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Leadership experience
* Track record of developing performance in an operating and service delivery environment
