Ackerman Pierce work closely with County Councils and Schools to provide one to one tutoring for children waiting for school placements. The children we are looking to support have a range of additional complex needs and so we are seeking experienced SEN /HLTA's/LSA's/Tutors/Teachers.
We are currently recruiting for LSA's to provide face to face support to our Tutors and SEND Students in guildford.
* Location - Guildford
* Position - Learning Support Assistant
* Start date - ASAP
* End date (if applicable) - ongoing
* Contract type - Temporary
* Full time/part time - Part time and Full time available
* Rate of pay - 25 - 35 per hour
* Hours - Tuition must take place between 0830am and 1630pm Monday - Friday (Term time only)
We are looking for candidates who are:-
* Available during school hours up to 30 hours per week.
* Experienced supporting young people with a wide range of complex and challenging needs including SEMH/ASD/MLD/SpLD
* Prepared to work face to face within the community or young persons home.
LSA responsibilities:
* Motivate pupils to achieve beyond their potential.
* Assist Tutors to plan learning activities, prepare learning materials, complete records, and carry out administrative tasks.
* Help children to understand instructions.
* Provide feedback on the young person's progress.
* Establish positive relationships with pupils and understand their needs.
* Provide constructive feedback in a way that reinforces pupils' self-esteem.
* Handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding.
* Work effectively and supportively as a member of a team.
Requirements
* Experience in supporting pupils in a classroom environment, with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
* 5 GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A to C), including English and Maths.
* Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
* Fluent levels of spoken and written English.
* You must also pass an enhanced background (DBS) check.
