About the Role
As Assistant Manager, you'll work closely with the owners to oversee daily operations across:
* Busy bar and restaurant service
* Accommodation (rooms and campsite)
* Events and seasonal trade
* Customer experience and reputation management
* Team leadership and development
This is a varied, hands-on role — perfect for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves while also contributing strategically to business growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the overall running of the pub, rooms and campsite
* Leading shifts and ensuring high standards of service
* Managing staff rotas, training and team motivation
* Driving sales and increasing average spend
* Assisting with stock control, ordering and GP management
* Handling customer enquiries, bookings and guest relations
* Ensuring compliance with licensing, health & safety and food hygiene regulations
* Taking responsibility in the absence of the General Manager/Owner
Growth & Marketing Focus
We are looking for someone who can help grow the business through:
* Active social media management (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
* Creating engaging content and promoting events
* Developing in-house marketing initiatives
* Building local partnerships and community engagement
* Managing online reviews and reputation
* Supporting seasonal campaigns and promotions
Experience in digital marketing or hospitality branding would be a strong asset.
Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience as Assistant Manager or Supervisor in a busy pub or hospitality setting
* Strong leadership and people skills
* Commercially aware with a drive to increase revenue
* Organised, proactive and solution-focused
* Confident using booking systems and social media platforms
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
* Personal Licence holder (preferred but not essential)
