About the Direct Payment Holder
A warm and rewarding opportunity is available to support a cheerful and curious 10-year-old boy who loves music, cause-and-effect toys, and exploring new places. He is non-verbal and requires full support with mobility and personal care. While he is unable to sit or stand independently, he can roll and enjoys interaction and play. He is tube-fed but may occasionally enjoy small treats orally. He thrives on sensory engagement, outings, and meaningful connection with those around him.
Hours and Rate of Pay
Approximately 9 hours per week. Weekend role (Saturday and/or Sunday). Additional hours available during school holidays. £16.88 per hour.

Training
* Safeguarding Adults
* Introduction to first aid
* Health and Safety / Moving and handling
What You Would Be Doing
* Supporting with feeding (including tube feeding)
* Assisting with all aspects of personal care
* Using a hoist for transfers, positioning, and mobility support
* Engaging him in play, especially music and sensory activities
* Accompanying him on outings and helping him access the community
* Observing and responding to his communication cues (facial expressions and sounds)
Required Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will be kind, patient, and attentive, with a genuine interest in supporting a child to enjoy life to the fullest. Being observant and responsive to non‑verbal communication is essential.
* Experience with tube feeding and manual handling (including hoisting) is desirable; training can be provided.
* A driver with a clean licence is preferred, as you may be required to drive a WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle).
* Female applicants are preferred, though male applicants will also be considered.
