Your new company
You will be joining an established domestic abuse support provider delivering trauma‑informed services to individuals and families across the Black Country. The organisation offers a holistic approach to helping victims escape abuse, build resilience and regain control over their lives. The service works in partnership with Early Help teams, health professionals, safeguarding boards and wider community agencies to ensure victims receive coordinated, meaningful support tailored to their needs.
Your new role
As a Domestic Abuse Advocate, you will provide frontline support to individuals assessed as standard to medium risk. You will:

Work closely with Sandwell Early Help and local Community Operating Groups (COGs) to identify and support families affected by domestic abuse.
Offer direct casework support, including advice, emotional support and practical guidance through phone and face‑to‑face contact.
Complete risk and needs assessments, develop support plans and empower victims to understand the dynamics of domestic abuse.
Advocate for victims and help them access key services such as safeguarding teams, housing, legal advice, health and children's services.
Refer to IDVA services and other specialist agencies for high‑risk or complex cases.
Take referrals via drop‑ins and phone, gathering key information and assessing risk.
Attend civil and criminal court hearings with clients to offer reassurance and help them understand the process.
Facilitate support groups, including programmes such as You and Me, Mum, raising awareness of safe relationships and the impact of abuse.
Deliver awareness sessions on healthy and unhealthy relationships in a range of settings.
Work proactively with external professionals through the Team Around the Family process and other multi‑agency meetings.
Maintain accurate case recordings, update the eCAF system and participate in safeguarding processes.
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
This role is open to female applicants only due to the nature of the work.This role is ideal for someone who is empathetic, resilient, highly organised and committed to supporting individuals to make positive, safe changes.
What you'll need to succeed
You will bring:

A minimum Level 3 qualification in a related field. (desirable)
Experience supporting vulnerable adults and/or children, with a strong understanding of safeguarding.
Professional experience supporting victims of domestic abuse.
Experience managing a caseload and working with individuals with complex needs.
Confidence facilitating group work and working within multi‑agency environments.
Knowledge of domestic abuse indicators, risk assessment principles and safety planning.
Understanding of civil/criminal justice processes, safeguarding legislation, immigration, housing and cultural diversity.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including report writing.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and remain calm and resilient under pressure.
Competence in Microsoft Office and digital case management systems, including eCAF.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends when required.
