Marketing & Business Development Manager Job in East Grinstead with an award-winning RIBA-chartered practice offering a strategic role with direct access to the Board. This is an opportunity to shape business development, marketing and sector positioning across residential growth markets and expert witness services.
Our client is an award-winning RIBA-chartered practice delivering residential, healthcare, mixed-use and remediation projects across the UK. The practice combines technical rigour, commercial awareness and design-led thinking, working with developers, registered providers, investors, public sector clients, Court deputies and private clients. With the architecture side of the business entering an important phase of growth, this role will help strengthen the practice’s presence across residential sectors including Build to Rent, Later Living, affordable housing and wider residential development.
Role & Responsibilities
1. Work with the Board and Directors to support and deliver the business development strategy, with a focus on residential growth sectors
2. Monitor market trends, planning policy, procurement activity and development pipelines to identify new opportunities
3. Build and maintain relationships with developers, consultants, contractors, registered providers and sector bodies
4. Lead and coordinate framework submissions, bids, EOIs and tender responses across public and private sectors
5. Develop and maintain high-quality bid collateral including case studies, CVs, project sheets and presentation material
6. Manage marketing activity across digital platforms, social media, awards, PR and editorial content
7. Oversee outward-facing materials including capability documents, presentations, brochures and pitch decks
8. Coordinate photography, project storytelling and thought leadership content
9. Support the ongoing development of the practice website and wider brand presence
10. Develop marketing and BD activity to raise the profile of the expert witness team with solicitors, insurers, loss adjusters and legal professionals
11. Represent the practice at industry events, networking functions and sector forums
12. Support Directors with presentations, interviews and key client meetings
Required Skills & Experience
13. Experience in marketing, business development or communications within architecture, design, development, planning or the wider built environment
14. Strong understanding of the residential development sector and how professional relationships are built within it
15. Experience supporting bids, tenders, framework submissions or competitive new business activity
16. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and professionally
17. Commercial awareness with the ability to identify opportunities and market trends
18. Strong visual eye and appreciation for how a design-led practice should present itself
19. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, PowerPoint or Keynote, and Microsoft Office
20. Experience in residential development, Build to Rent, Later Living, affordable housing or mixed-use sectors would be advantageous
21. Familiarity with public sector procurement, CRM systems, bid platforms or marketing analytics tools would be beneficial
