HSBC Corporate Banking in the UK provides domestic and international commercial banking services to our clients. Clients typically have turnover up to £50m. The Relationship Manager will manage a portfolio of non-complex Corporate Banking clients, maintain and grow profitable long-term relationships, and manage all aspects of the relationship including portfolio management, identifying growth opportunities with existing and prospective clients, operating and credit risk, stakeholder management and delivering exceptional customer service.
To be successful, you will create and maintain strong partnerships internally and externally, working closely with relationship and product teams across the world. Your responsibilities will include:
* Identifying strategies to maintain/enhance overall relationship return and early identification of financial and non-financial risk issues.
* Supporting the achievement against targets for revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost containment.
* Identifying growth opportunities with existing clients and business development opportunities with new prospective clients, including analysis, proposals, presentations and pitches for new products and services.
* Acting as primary point of contact on the portfolio for clients and internal colleagues.
* Preparing structured and focused application remarks for clients, covering annual reviews and new money proposals.
* Completing review and submission of credit risk returns including limit excess/exception, security/documentation outstanding, monthly credit control reports, etc.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience in a relevant client-facing role within Commercial Banking (CMB) with knowledge of associated products.
* Proven ability to identify and meet customer needs, applying appropriate products and solutions.
* Ability to build networks across business areas and strong relationship management skills.
* Comprehensive credit skills and knowledge.
* Understanding of risk management and compliance with regulatory processes.
* Self-driven with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
This is a hybrid position with the base location in Fareham. Applications from those based in Reading or Southampton are also welcome. The role involves a mix of home and office-based work with travel across the south of the UK visiting clients regularly.
