Lecturer - Maths & English (16-18 Provision) Location: East Ham Contract Type: Temporary - Sickness Cover Hours: 36 hours per week Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (5 days per week) Start: ASAP About the Role We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Maths and English Lecturer to join the team at our East Ham Campus on a temporary basis to cover staff sickness. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about supporting 16-18-year-old learners to achieve their GCSE goals. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality, engaging lessons, ensuring students are supported, motivated, and well-prepared for examination success. Key Responsibilities Deliver GCSE Maths and/or English to 16-18-year-old learners Plan, prepare, and deliver high‑quality lessons in line with curriculum requirements Use a range of teaching, learning, and assessment strategies to support learner progress Provide constructive feedback and set clear targets to help learners achieve their potential Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress, and attainment Contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and positive learning environment Essential Requirements A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, DET, QTS) Experience teaching GCSE Maths and/or English Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to engage and motivate learners aged 16-18 Commitment to delivering outstanding teaching and learning Contract Details Hours: 36 per week Contract: Temporary sickness cover Campus: East Ham Days: Monday to Friday
