We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Senior Project Manager to join our team delivering construction projects. As a key member of our organisation, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing complex construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery of educational infrastructure that meets the highest standards of quality and governance.
SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
* Lead end-to-end project management for large-scale construction projects, ensuring successful delivery within time, budget, and quality parameters in accordance with government standards
* Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation aligned with Department for Education requirements
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and government stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met
* Implement and oversee effective project governance, processes, and systems throughout the project lifecycle, adhering to public sector best practice
* Conduct regular risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues and ensure project resilience
* Monitor project finances and manage the change control process in compliance with government financial regulations
* Facilitate clear communication among team members and stakeholders through regular meetings, written reports, and government-mandated documentation
* Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental regulations, and government procurement standards
* Mentor and guide junior project managers to foster their professional development and maintain chartered standards
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
* Demonstrable experience in managing large-scale construction projects within the education sector
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
* Proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget
* Strong knowledge of construction processes, methodologies, and industry best practices
* Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and team members
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
* Experience in a consultancy environment is preferred
* Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and LEED certification is a plus
