We are currently looking for a Senior Technician to join our friendly team based at Tarmac Cloddach Sand and Gravel Quarry, Elgin, near Inverness. This is a mobile role that covers various sites in the Caledonian region including sites in Keith, Lossiemouth, Nairn and Inverness. The role is therefore easily accessible from Elgin, Forres, Kinloss, Lossiemouth and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibilities
* Carry out technical testing, ensuring testing is carried out in accordance with BS EN Standards and accreditations
* Help manage and promote awareness of company safety policies and procedures
* Ensure all product and constituent testing relating to aggregates and concrete products is carried out in a safe and timely manner
* Ensure testing procedures are fully documented and understood and communicated to any relevant parties
* Play an active part in maintaining a strong HSE culture both within the department and on our sites
* Help to drive a zero-harm culture
* Be commercially aware and understand the value to the business of a fast accurate testing service
* Support cross functions in continuous improvement and business optimisation
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role of Senior Technician will have laboratory experience gained within the construction sector and will possess knowledge of aggregate and/or concrete testing and production. This role is a hands-on, site-based position wearing Hi-Viz PPE and working in a small team closely supporting operational concrete plants.
Suitable candidates for the role will possess a UK driving licence and be flexible to travel to different sites. You will also be:
* Hard working and self-motivated
* Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and liaise with stakeholders of varying seniority levels
* Accurate in their work with strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential risks/issues (training will be provided)
* Able to work independently and to collaborate as part of a wider team
* IT literate
* Possess a good numerical aptitude (handling calculations/interpreting results)
* Flexible in their working approach
* Health and Safety conscious
