National role with regular travel
This is a national role, requiring travel to supplier sites and occasional overnight stays.
The opportunity
As a Quality Supply Chain Assurance Specialist, you will play a key role in assuring and improving the performance of our supply chain across major projects and facilities. Working closely with Procurement, project teams and suppliers, you will lead audit and assurance activity and support continuous improvement across regulated, high‑assurance environments.
What You May Be Responsible For
* Leading supplier audit, surveillance and assurance activity across tender, manufacture and installation stages
* Coordinating audit and surveillance schedules with Procurement to ensure effective supply chain coverage
* Assessing new suppliers through desk‑based and on‑site quality evaluations
* Monitoring supplier performance, identifying trends and addressing deviation
* Agreeing and tracking supplier improvement plans following audit or under‑performance
* Supporting projects and facilities with targeted surveillance activities, including witness testing
* Building strong relationships with key suppliers to reduce risk and share best practice
* Advocating Laing O'Rourke's supplier assurance approach and supporting alignment with BS 99001:2022
* Contributing to quality reporting, insights and the wider Quality and Building Safety strategy
What you're likely to bring
* Significant experience in quality governance, assurance, compliance and improvement
* Background in supplier assurance and development, ideally within regulated environments such as nuclear, energy, rail, healthcare or similar
* Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, BS 99001 and related standards
* Lead Auditor experience, particularly within supply chain contexts
* Confidence engaging with stakeholders across projects, functions and the supply chain
* An organised, self‑directed approach, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
Desirable qualifications
* Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) membership, or equivalent, or working towards
* ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification with recent practical application
