Overview
Warwickshire County Council, The Warwickshire Separated Children and Leaving Care Team is based in Warwick at Myton Park. The team is a countywide service offering provision up to the age of 25 and works with children aged 0-25 to enable young people to settle and manage their asylum status. This role will specifically work with migrant children and young people to reduce homelessness and enable planned approaches through working with local district and borough housing departments and other services. The applicant will support young people through a good knowledge of immigration legislation and support young people through navigating the system. In crisis, the role explores alternative housing options where a young person has been evicted or cannot access housing through traditional routes. The post holder will work closely with the voluntary sector, housing providers and other agencies to find the most appropriate housing options for care‑experienced young people. Warwickshire is embedding Families First teams to support the young people in the county, with an approach based on locality working, multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency collaboration that supports the whole family, building strong partnerships with local services, Health, Police and Education.

Responsibilities
* Supporting colleagues and young people to have planned home moves
* Providing advice and guidance on housing issues
* Liaising with housing authorities to prevent homelessness and to find suitable housing options
* Being creative in identifying suitable accommodation for young people

About the Role
We are recruiting for the role of Homeless Prevention Advisor in our Separated Children Team. Some of the young people we support live outside of Warwickshire, so the applicant must be happy to travel.
