Spire Bushey Hospital have a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced Governance quality and risk manager to join our governance department as a team lead on a full time basis.

The job holder’s focus will be to ensure a safe service and provide leadership in the delivery of Spire Healthcare and Clinical Governance Strategies

Spire Bushey Hospital forms part of a 4 site portfolio, and is supported by and works alongside Spire Bushey Diagnostic Centre, Elstree Cancer Centre and Spire Pathology Centre. Our theatre team cover a wide variety of specialties including Ortho, Bariatric, General, Gyane, ENT, Urology, Plastics, Ophthalmics, Spinal.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Lead Hospital Governance and compliance activity within the hospital.
2. Monitor and co-ordinate investigations of adverse events occurring within the hospital in adherence to the PSIRF methodology / framework.
3. Lead in clinical audit, promoting evidence based best practice.
4. Assist in the development and dissemination of patient safety related information throughout all levels of the hospital.
5. Lead in the development of methods and processes to aid the management of clinical risk.
6. To engage with colleagues across the hospital in relation to policy management.
7. Develop own knowledge and practice and assist others to develop.
8. Work in such a way as to help promote a culture that actively improves clinical safety and quality.
9. Monitor consultant information and co-ordinate reports to identify trends and support the practicing privileges review process.
10. Manage document control and issue
11. Responsible for management of complaints

Who We're Looking For

12. Previous Team Management Experience and Clinical Governance experience
13. Evidence of participation of audit activities : Lead in audit activities/clinical audit training
14. Degree level education
15. PSIRF training
16. IOSH/NEBOSH accredited
17. Proven track record of meeting deadlines and closing actions
18. Experience of hosting/managing meetings
19. Evidence of good organisational and administrative skills
20. Competent to use the full range of Microsoft Office applications and willingness to learn Spire Healthcare systems including SAP and Datix/DCIQ.
21. Able to meet deadlines and to co-ordinate a variety of activity threads simultaneously.
22. Able to present data and information in a neat, professional and accessible manner that promotes the reputation of the business.
23. A motivated self-starter who can work with initiative with minimal direction, able to develop ideas and translate them into workable systems.
