We are seeking a Financial Controller to work in close partnership with the new CFO, shaping and professionalising the finance function. This is a hands-on role that blends technical reporting with strategic leadership—ideal for someone ready to grow into a Group Financial Controller as the company expands nationally and internationally.
What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Leadership
* Lead month-end close and prepare accurate and timely P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
* Manage financial accounting processes and full Balance Sheet reconciliations
* Oversee budgeting and rolling forecasts, supporting the CFO with planning and delivery
* Support in preparing the company for PE-level governance and scalability
Financial Control & Governance
* Strengthen internal controls and implement fit-for-purpose finance processes
* Coordinate audit preparation and ensure financial compliance across all reporting
* Help professionalise reporting processes with system and workflow improvements
Stakeholder Engagement
* Act as day-to-day liaison for external parties—banking partners, insurers, auditors
* Participate in management meetings, offering financial insight to shape strategic decisions
* Support and mentor a growing finance team of five (mix of part-time and full-time), including a Finance Manager transitioning into an FP&A role
Leadership & Culture
* Deputise for the CFO as needed, acting as a trusted business partner to the wider senior team
* Contribute to a people-first culture built on respect, teamwork, and purpose-driven values
What You’ll Bring
* Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
* Strong track record in management accounts, financial controls, and team leadership
* Demonstrated experience in audit prep, cash flow, and reporting in a growing SME
* Advanced Excel user with system/process improvement instincts
* Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort working cross-functionally
