JustOT are recruiting for an HCPC registered experienced Occupational Therapist to work with our well‑respected client based in Leicester.
Rate & Working Pattern
Rate: £45 per hour
Working Pattern: Full time, 37 Hours, At least 2-3 days in the office - depending on the needs of the service
Location: Leicester
Essential Requirements: HCPC registered, 3 years Social Services Experience
Responsibilities
* To provide decisive and effective leadership to team(s) in line with the council's 'Vision & Values' and 'Leadership Qualities' that enables them to do their best work resulting in high levels of people and organisational performance.
* To provide professional supervision to Occupational Therapy staff and to plan, allocate and review workloads, manage priorities, implement, and improve systems and procedures to advance the performance standards set by the Department.
* Plan, allocate and review workloads of Occupational Therapy staff according to set practice and procedure.
* Manage a caseload, carrying out assessments, making recommendations and commissioning other services where appropriate.
* Co‑work, monitor & evaluate cases carried out by staff for cases with complex needs.
* Liaise with other professionals, teams, departments and agencies regarding case management and adaptations.
* Investigate and respond to complaints and enquiries and seek feedback.
* Attend meetings with colleagues, team members, families, multi‑disciplinary team, professional advisory group, housing, Housing associations, housing colleagues, adaptation panel management meetings.
* Provide cover for other Team Leader within the Service.
* Providing advice and acting as an independent advisor to provide second opinion assessments as required.
* Research and keeping abreast of technical advances in the provision of new items of equipment.
* Provide advice to residential/day care units/foster placements on adaptation and moving and handling items.
* Manage staff within the Team on the proper interpretation of their role and practice in accordance with their position and level of accountability, including advice on prioritisation, risk assessment and risk management.
* Supervise & develop a team of Occupational Therapists, support staff and students which will include the provision of appraisals.
* To liaise with other Senior Occupational Therapists, Disability Services Team & Housing Teams to provide regular management information reports on various aspects of adaptation work.
* To promote a multi‑agency approach to meeting the needs of people with disabilities. Working closely with health colleagues, Social Workers, education etc, being part of EHC plans.
* Deliver quality services in accordance with current legislation and departmental policy and practice.
* To promote, monitor, review and evaluate the performance of resources within the Occupational Therapy team to meet Departmental, Local Authority and National performance requirements.
* To contribute to the development of Departmental policy and Best Value including producing reports for Senior Managers, Committee, and any other relevant fora.
* To maintain a specialist knowledge of legislation and research and development relating to the area of responsibility and be able to provide relevant advice within the Department and to external agencies in a variety of settings.
* To ensure that budgets are utilised and managed effectively.
* To recruit, support, manage and develop employees.
