Senior Solicitor – Civil & Commercial Litigation (Debt Recovery) 5+ PQE | Leeds | Salary £55,000 + (DOE)
We are looking for an experienced Civil or Commercial Litigation Solicitor (5+ years' PQE) with strong debt recovery experience and proven leadership capability.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will manage a complex and varied caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters, with a particular focus on debt recovery and contractual disputes. Your responsibilities include:
* Managing claims across the Small Claims, Fast Track and Multi Track, ensuring full compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules
* Conducting detailed case assessments and advising clients on strategy, risk and likely outcomes
* Handling a broad range of matters, including:
o Complex debt recovery litigation
o Commercial and B2B contractual disputes
o Enforcement proceedings and post‑judgment recovery strategies
o Rent recovery and statutory based claims
* Drafting high‑quality legal documentation, including statements of case, applications, witness statements and technical correspondence
* Acting as a senior point of escalation on more complex or high‑risk matters
* Working collaboratively with other Senior Solicitors to support workflow, quality standards and team performance
* Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency and improve litigation outcomes
* Building strong, trusted client relationships through clear, commercially focused advice and regular communication
* Supervising, mentoring and supporting junior solicitors, paralegals and litigation support staff
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a confident, technically strong litigator who can add value from day one and is motivated by progression and leadership responsibility. You will demonstrate:
* A minimum of 5 years’ PQE with solid experience in civil litigation, ideally in debt recovery or commercial disputes
* Strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, with experience managing cases across all tracks
* The ability to manage a high volume caseload while maintaining excellent standards of quality and attention to detail
* Strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic, solution‑focused approach to litigation
* Experience of supervising, mentoring or supporting junior team members
* A collaborative, resilient and proactive approach, with confidence to operate as part of a senior leadership layer within the team
Working Arrangements & Salary
* Full‑time, office‑based role in Leeds
* 35 hours per week (typically 9:00 am – 4:30 pm, with flexibility considered)
* Salary from £55,000+, dependent on experience and expertise
