Job Title: Court of Protection Paralegal

The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join a highly regarded and ranked Court of Protection team based in South Manchester. This is a full-time, office-based role within a supportive, specialist team known for its expertise in mental capacity, deputyship, and complex health and welfare matters.
This role offers hands-on experience in a respected team, ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career within Court of Protection and private client work.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting fee earners in the day-to-day running of Court of Protection files.
* Drafting applications, witness statements, and general correspondence.
* Preparing and managing case bundles and court documents.
* Liaising with clients, families, healthcare professionals, the Court of Protection, and the Office of the Public Guardian.
* Assisting with the administration of deputyships and trusts.
* Attending meetings and court hearings as required.
* Ensuring accurate file management, compliance, and record-keeping.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a Court of Protection team (health and welfare or property and affairs) is highly desirable, though candidates with strong transferrable legal skills will also be considered.
* Strong communication and client care skills, with the ability to deal sensitively with vulnerable clients and their families
* High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
* Confident using legal software and Microsoft Office applications.
* Law degree or relevant legal qualifications (e.g. LPC/SQE) desirable but not essential.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
