Job Summary
We are looking for a driven and analytical individual to join our Commercial Strategy & Portfolio Management team. The successful candidate will support the optimization of our integrated energy portfolio, covering retail, solar, gas, and power assets. You will play a pivotal role in contract structuring, commercial analysis, pricing strategy, and cross-functional coordination to ensure sustainable growth and profitability across both long-term and short-term power/gas contracting.
Key Responsibilities
* Portfolio Strategy & Analysis
o Support integrated portfolio management of gas and power across cogen, solar, and retail assets.
o Track and improve hedge positions, risk exposures, and financial contribution of contracts.
o Conduct in-depth analysis on pricing, demand-supply alignment, and market movements.
* Contracting & Deal Structuring
o Assist in structuring and evaluating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), gas supply contracts, and REC deals.
o Provide commercial advisory to internal teams on key terms and negotiation strategy.
o Model financial impact of various deal scenarios and sensitivities.
* Commodities Market Intelligence
o Monitor global energy and commodity markets to identify macroeconomic and geopolitical trends impacting portfolio value.
o Use technical indicators (e.g. RSI, Bollinger Bands, moving averages) and market patterns to support buy/sell decisions and contract timing.
o Summarize and present actionable insights from price charts, trading platforms, and energy news to internal stakeholders.
* Commercial Governance & Digitalisation
o Support development of commercial playbooks.
o Coordinate across retail, solar, and wholesale teams to ensure strategic alignment.
o Contribute to the digitalisation of commercial workflows and ETRM enhancements.
* Market Intelligence & Competitive Insights
o Monitor electricity, gas, and REC market trends and competitor pricing.
o Translate insights into actionable recommendations for portfolio and pricing strategy.
* Stakeholder Management
o Collaborate closely with Legal, Risk, Retail, and Solar teams to ensure smooth execution of commercial initiatives.
o Support presentations and reports for senior management and external partners.
What You Will Learn
This role offers a rare opportunity to develop commercial acumen across the full energy value chain—combining traditional utilities, renewables, and commodity trading exposure. You will gain practical experience in:
* Structuring and pricing complex gas, power, and green energy contracts across diverse business models.
* Managing financial exposure and hedging strategies using real-time market intelligence.
* Understanding market mechanisms and price behavior of key indices like Dated Brent, HSFO, JKM, and FX.
* Identifying global energy and commodity market trends through both fundamental research and technical chart analysis.
* Working closely with digital, finance, and strategy ts to drive data-enabled decision-making.
* Presenting insights and strategies directly to commercial leaders and senior stakeholders.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or related field.
* Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, and ideally VBA.
* Familiarity with gas, power market preferred.
* Effective communicator with excellent cross-functional coordination skills.
* Self-starter with a growth mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
