The DT Department is well-established, forward-thinking, and heavily invested in practical learning, supporting students from KS3 through to A-Level. The school is seeking a full-time technician who can confidently assist teachers, maintain specialist equipment, and contribute to a safe, inspiring workshop environment.
The successful candidate will play a significant role in the preparation of resources, organisation of materials, management of machinery, and day-to-day running of the department. You’ll be working closely with specialist DT teachers across Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, and Textiles. The school prides itself on delivering a rigorous, hands-on curriculum where students have access to fully equipped workshops, CAD/CAM facilities, laser cutters, 3D printers, and a professional design studio environment.
Daily responsibilities will include preparing resources for lessons, supporting practical demonstrations, maintaining and ordering stock, ensuring all machinery adheres to strict health-and-safety requirements, helping students during workshop sessions, and working collaboratively with staff to elevate the creative and technical standards of the department.
